Overview

Founded in 2008, Stonehill International School is one of the most widely reputed international schools in Bangalore, India. We are an IB school and are accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Stonehill is also a member of the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA).
The expansive 34-acre lush green campus, near the International Airport, offers ample space and infrastructure for sporting, cultural, and leisure activities. Besides state-of-the art classrooms, the world-class facilities include a 25-meter temperature-controlled pool, synthetic turf football field, tennis and volleyball courts, an Arts Centre, a STEM block, and a multipurpose sports hall. SIS also prides itself on modern boarding houses and a fully equipped cafeteria that serves nutritious and healthy meals.
As a world class educational institution, SIS is a dynamic, inclusive, and friendly day and boarding school. Our students and faculty comprise 35 different nationalities. We are dedicated to our mission statement – “To provide stimulating, engaging academics integrated with enhanced opportunities for technological innovation, sports, and the arts.”

University Placement Programme –
Our Career and College Counselling Department works with students from Grade 9 onwards to identify their aptitude, understand their interests, and guide them towards colleges that will help them meet their academic and personal goals.

Stonehill graduates have been accepted to some of the most prestigious universities across the globe including, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, Dartmouth College, London School of Economics (LSE), New York University (NYU), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Sarah Lawrence College, University of Southern California (USC), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Boston, University of British Columbia (UBC), LaSalle School of Arts, City University of Hong Kong, and many more.

English as an additional language (EAL)
Stonehill offers support to non-native English-speaking students. Individual programmes are developed to enable English language acquisition in students. To aid faster learning, EAL students are included in regular classes, as often as possible.

Sports –
Through our sports programme, importance is given to not just students’ health and fitness, but also to developing skills, learning to work in teams and building leadership and personal growth. Stonehill students also compete regularly with teams from other schools in Bangalore, India, and Asia. Our students have made us proud by demonstrating commitment, great attitude and the spirit of teamwork. Swimming, tennis, equestrian sports, basketball, football, volleyball, and cricket are just a few of our sports offerings.

Arts –
Stonehill prides itself on a committed Arts department with a special focus on Visual Art, Drama, and Music. Stonehill uses the creative arts to promote attitudes such as empathy and appreciation, and skills such as analysis, that help see the uniqueness of each person as well as explore the commonalities that connect each other.
We have a dedicated Arts Centre, that has purpose built spaces for music, visual art, and drama. We also offer private music lessons for instruments such as piano, guitar, drums, violin and cello along with numerous opportunities to perform at concerts, assemblies and other gatherings.

Technology –
At Stonehill, we have a 1:1 policy for devices and our students use a wide variety of tools to communicate, collaborate, research, and create.

In the Primary School, the digital citizenship programme teaches students to be safe and responsible in the online world. They use an all in one digital platform for planning, assessments, portfolios, projects, and reports, which they can independently navigate. Learning is supported through the Makerspace where digitally enhanced Lego and robotics work alongside the traditional elements of design, sewing, and construction.

Technology in the Secondary School is seamlessly integrated into all subjects. Additionally, Product Design, Digital Design, Design Technology, and Computer Science are offered as subjects.

Boarding –
Stonehill offers weekly and full time boarding options to students. The residential programme at Stonehill is for students from Grade 6 onwards, and is designed to extend learning the IB way through academics, extracurricular activities, and the social aspects of boarding. It offers students a home away from home, with spacious and comfortable living areas, and access to a host of extracurricular activities. The small number of boarders provides a warm atmosphere and creates a sense of community.

The boarding houses at Stonehill feature twin and quad sharing rooms, a common lounge, and a study room. The houses are supported by a cafeteria, a fitness centre, and a 24-hour medical centre. Experienced House Parents, tutors, and service staff take care of children and their individual needs.
