Why Choose to Study at a Boarding School in Spain?

1. Bilingual, quality, safety, economic stability

Secondary education in Spain provides a unique opportunity for international students to learn the Spanish language in a safe and welcoming country with the highest academic standards.

2. Quality of life

As one of the oldest nations on earth, Spain can offer a combination of qualities that make it an ideal destination to experience a unique educational and cultural environment. With people famed for their hospitality, situated in southeastern Europe far from conflict zones and free of natural disasters, Spain is rightly considered one of the world's safest locations.
With significant modernization and development in recent decades, a beautiful climate, and excellent social services, Spain is recognized as a country with some of Europe's highest living standards and a destination favored by millions of tourists every year.

3. Environment and climate

Situated at the mouth of the Mediterranean, Spain enjoys a continental climate. Its privileged location gives rise to a country of unique geographical richness and variety. Spain has a little of everything, from the mountains famed for their skiing to a range of coastal regions to islands with a tropical climate.< br//>In addition, with some of Europe's best transport infrastructure, moving around Spain, whether by plane, car, or train, could not be easier. Such ease of movement allows Spanish international schools to offer activities for their international students in many parts of this fascinating country.

4. Language and sports

Learning and perfecting the Spanish language (the world's second most spoken mother tongue) is one of the principal reasons to spend an academic year or more in Spain. If this can be combined with studying an international programme, the effects can be multiplied to provide a truly enriching experience. Furthermore, Spain is also recognized for its global excellence in many sporting disciplines. Its most prestigious international schools offer programs from beginner to advanced/elite in sports such as football, tennis, basketball, or golf. In addition, Spain's excellent climate allows for these sports to take place outdoors for most of the year combined with the extraordinary facilities of the international schools.

5. Art, culture and history

In addition to an immersive linguistic experience in the Spanish language, the opportunity to experience the history, art and culture of one of the great centres of civilization is immeasurable. Not only does Spain possess some of the world's finest galleries and museums, but also an extraordinary range of cities whose architectural and artistic value are world-renowned. The international schools of Spain have educational programmes and extra-curricular activities based on this heritage which include not just art but also music, dance and drama.

6. Outstanding facilities and campuses

In the past Spain was not always known as a destination for an international education. However, with the advent of private schools with international boarding facilities, the situation has changed significantly in the last number of years, especially with the number of such schools who offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) or British programmes. These schools, with their high academic standards, are considered as innovators within the Spanish educational community, especially in the areas of methodology, facilities, academic resources, and sports and arts installations.

The quality of these campuses and the atmosphere of the boarding schools is the equal of or exceed those of the finest private schools in the world.

7. Cost

The cost of a private, international education in Spain is somewhat less than other comparable European countries, with the added bonus of being able to learn a language as important as Spanish while maintaining or improving the level of English.
All in all, this means that Spanish private schools are competing with their best North American and European counterparts and are not found wanting.

  • 4.I know the Krumbach school in Austria where my niece Anne Princess GAKIZA, orphan of father and mother studies. This school takes care of all her needs (school fees, travel and accommodation, health care and insurance, ect. ..) and develop the child’s talents. As legal guardian, I am very delighted to have my niece in Krumbach school and I would recommend this school without a second thought…The orphan has a wonderful time at school with excellent relationships and attention, love and adequate education. In addition to her strong open-mindedness in the scientific field, she is learning several languages which is also a very pleasant tool to start for a long subsequent journey of study and learning!
The school allows also for very organized control of the behavior and needs of students in a more specific and personalized way.
I would like to thank all the staff and educational leaders of the school for the period already spent by my niece at Kumbrach school and the quality/service that was provided.
An exceptional school attentive to the specific needs of children, in a wonderful environment for children to learn and develop their creativity.
The school’s strong points are the maintenance of permanent liaison with parents, the communication of informations which trace the activities carried out by the children as well as the academic results of each term. You know it’s a good school when your child can’t wait to return at the end of the holidays.

  • Our son is in his third year at the school. And we can already form an opinion about everything.
The first thing that sticks in the mind is the location: a castle on a mountain in the middle of the forest with an inexpressible view and always fresh air.
Secondly, the daily routine and hygiene in everything is observed with Austrian pedantry.
Third, the offices, lodging and recreation rooms, library, are modern and comfortable.
Fourth, the new sports ground, bicycles, contribute to the physical development of students.
Fifth, the kitchen, it deserves special praise. Diverse, full, healthy food. Special thanks for the days of cuisines of different nations. Pupils not only familiarize themselves with the dishes of the world, but also actively participate in their preparation.
The sixth is collective, creative work. Joint productions of plays, cognitive visits to museums, theaters, exhibitions, movies, concerts. Annual outings for skiing and skating in winter, hiking in summer and tourist trips to European countries. This is a topic for a separate comment.
And, finally, the seventh is the main thing. Educational process. Bilingualism! Education is a two-way process, teacher – student. The approach to the selection of teachers is serious. Not every teacher is able to be enthusiastic about his subject, complex to teach simply, while maintaining the subordination. It works here.
There are no perfect schools, as well as people. The administration solves force-majeure circumstances, nuances in requirements, difficulties in adaptation of teenagers and young men (at the expense of their moral and physical health) skillfully, keeping the spirit of the school and the priority of education.
We are sincerely grateful to all those who work, bring up, educate our son, showing him respect.
