These schools are renowned for providing rigorous academic standards and a broad, balanced curriculum, which is particularly appealing to parents focused on holistic development. The British education system emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, qualities that are highly valued in today’s globalized world.

Global Recognition

One of the primary reasons families gravitate towards British schools in Vaud is the global recognition of the qualifications offered, such as the GCSEs and A-Levels. These qualifications are widely respected by universities and employers worldwide, providing students with a plethora of opportunities for higher education and careers internationally. This aspect is incredibly beneficial for expat families who might move back to their home country or to another foreign nation, ensuring their child's education is recognized and valued universally.

Cultural Diversity

British schools in Vaud celebrate an inclusive and diverse environment, mirroring the multicultural fabric of the region itself. Students here are exposed to a variety of cultures and perspectives, which enriches their educational experience and fosters a better understanding of the world. This cultural diversity also helps in developing open-mindedness and respect for different viewpoints, preparing students to thrive in any corner of the globe.

English Language Mastery

As English is the primary medium of instruction, students gain mastery over the language, which is a significant advantage in the professional world where English often serves as the lingua franca. This is particularly advantageous for non-native speakers, offering them an environment to enhance their language skills in both academic and conversational contexts. Furthermore, fluency in English opens doors to a wealth of resources for learning, communication, and business worldwide.

Extracurricular Enrichment

Beyond academics, British schools in Vaud place a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities that contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals. From sports to arts and social service, these activities encourage students to pursue their interests and passions, which is vital for personal growth and self-discovery. Such opportunities also teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Ultimately, choosing a British school in Vaud means investing in an education system that not only promises academic excellence but also cultivates a supportive and stimulating environment where children can develop their individual talents and prepare for global challenges. • It’s time to say goodbye and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone!!! The teachers didn’t just educate our kids. You all taught them the importance of education. We are grateful to you. You were kind, patient and considerate, but played the stickler when you needed to. You have played a key role in moulding our children into good human beings and they will miss so much about LCIS. Thanks a lot for your support. All the best and Auf Wiedersehen

  • This is my sixth year in St George’s, I cannot really pinpoint one single good memory but I have really enjoyed all the field trips that the teachers took so much time and effort into organising and certain lessons with good teachers and great friends. Other than speaking English, it has taught me to be more tolerant and understanding of others, it is great to have people who come from other parts of the world because it helps me to understand the world we live in.

  • I have been to St. George’s for 5 years as a full boarder and I can’t choose my favourite memory from St. Georges as there were too many of them. But I think that being a boarder, meeting all my friends, having different field trips and becoming a Head of School were one of my most favourite memories.
Life in St. George’s has taught me to be responsible for all the actions and decisions I make as well as be a more open-minded person.

  • My favourite part of teaching at St George’s School is the one school philosophy that runs from students of 18 months to 18 years of age. It allows the younger students to benefit from the facilities and expectations of the older students and the older students to maintain their enthusiasm for learning. I love teaching primary age students about number concepts such as introducing them to large numbers like a googol and always getting an amazed reaction when they find out the number is larger than the number of atoms in the universe.

We hope that Riko will have even more good memories than ever during the short rest of the year at La Garenne so that La Garenne will become her home for the rest of her life. We appreciate your countless efforts you devoted for Riko, and we are very pleased how she grew up.

  • Thank you so much for taking care of Henry for the last three weeks. Henry had a wonderful time in La Garenne. He learned how to ski, how to sing a French song and he made a lot of friends as a boarder. We were quite worried about him before sending him as a boarder in a different country. Now he told us that he wanted to go back and stay for another two weeks. We knew he must have had so much fun there. We were so pleased with his changes and we will definitely send him back in the near future.
